July 1, 2010-Celescina Observatory, Paw Paw, Illinois - tornado damage to the observatory's outrigger rails were
repaired today. Debris cleanup of the surrounding area continues. The roll-off roof was deployed to test the
repaired outriggers with a positive result. Repairs to observatory siding will be address later this summer.
All telescope and computer equipment were spared damage during the storm. Electrical and solar panels were
unscathed.
On June 16, 2010 Celescina Observatory in Paw Paw, Illinois received minor damage due to tornadic winds and rains. A large tree limb from a nearby Norway maple tree came crashing down, knocking out the outrigger
rails to the observatory and skimmed the main structure, resulting in minor damage to siding.
