I would like to know as well. I know somebody that made an inquiry, but as far as I know they didn't get a response. They were late making the inquiry, so the fate was probably already decided.

I was totally unaware of this planetarium going away.
It seems that it was well hidden, at least from my radar, yet - still - another mystery to be solved.

Yes very sad, no one would bid on it as a package so they just trashed it. Truly, "frigg'in losers!" Why not give it to someone.
