Hi folks. This may be a redundant post; I'm not sure about searching for old posts and I do recall (I think!) there was a "planetariums in movies" sectinon, but can't find right now.

Anyway, I just learned that the opening title sequence (of stars rushing past) in the movie Star Trek 2 was filmed in a planetarium using a field created by a digistar. So, presumably, the stars shown in that title sequence are (virtually) real.

Funny how back then it wasn't done directly to digital, but filmed under a dome.

Given Mr. Pielock's image icon, I thought I should post this!
