The “Tombstone Observatory” formerly “Tombstone Asteroid Hunter Observatory” (TAHO) was completed 26-Jun-07. Ground breaking on the Obs was in July of 2006. This wild hair on building and Obs has been a dream since Jan 2000. Have a few cosmetics to finish, then the 12” LX200 classic will be mounted. Before the scope is mounted, I’m going to let this monsoon season have a go at testing the water proofing of the dome.

Pier plate & the Mitty wedge are level on their entire axis. The meter (shown) is accurate within 1/10th of a degree.

Looking great, Dennis! Very professional set-up there. Also, that is the best pic yet of a Henry 107 coated dome interior. Please keep us posted of contiinuing progress with your set-up - also, some astrophotos would be great to show off how well your dark dome enhances contrast of images. smile.gif

Keep it up!

Charles

Thanks for the kind words. I’m not a carpenter by trade, but when it comes to mechanical… that’s up my alley. The whole operation worked out very well.
I received your snail mail (thanks!)
