Well, thanks for that little dose of reality. And part of me would hate to be bidding against others on this forum; that would be unfortunate, given the amount of passion that folks here share.
I've got a lot to be thankful for (seem's an appropriate time for that sentiment)... a wife that tolerates me, a little daughter who reminds me that there are other world's than that which adults make (which sometimes, unfortunately, involve Barbie doll play -- my limit!), and many other riches. It's fun revisiting an old hobby, and dammit, I'll get some sort of planets up there, even if it ends up to be simple, uncoordinated motor drives. If for every time i got obsessed about some darn bit of detail on this project that I did something nice for my wife, uh, well,... Maybe she'd let me cut the ceiling out of our bedroom and i'd get to work on a 14" dome. I wonder what THAT would do to the re-sale value of our house!
I recall, when house-shopping 10 years ago, visiting a basement where there was a small audiological-study sound booth (from the Dymo labels at places, it looked like it came from University Surplus. Anyway, i'm wondering why this family had a small (like 4' on a side) sound booth in their basement. I'm getting very off topic. Probably time to say 'bye' and hope all have a restful Thanksgiving.
