Stan:
First off, welcome to AstroSkies! Here you'll find lots of ideas (only occasionally hair-brained) to help you get your observatory built. This question is one for SometimesKen to answer, for he's the one with the polyethylene ring system. Ken? Rich -------------------- President, Charlottesville Astronomical Society

Hi Stan,
I'll second the "Welcome" aboard! Let's see if I understand your question right. You want your finished dome height to be 96" from the floor to top of the dome measured from the inside. Is that correct? OK ... by my calculations you will need to build it like this .... finished wall height = 30" transition roof frame = 9.5" (built as per the ED drawings) ring -------------------- = 6" rollers ---------------- = 2.5" dome ----------------- = 48" ----------------------------------- --------------------------- 96" total I hope that answers your question. Good luck and keep us appraised of you progress. Ken 8) -------------------- As the setting sun / melts below the horizon / the stars applaud her bow. ~W.
