Finally!! All my things are beinging to fall into place!

Originally, I was just going to get a local shop to make a plate welded at 41 degrees and do the rest of the alignment manually for my pier...

Well... Lets back up a bit... About 4 months ago, the local shop where I bought my scope got a Used Meade superwedge in.. They only needed to replace 2 or 3 parts. At the time, I didn't have what they wanted for it. They wanted only 200!... Heck, even with the problems that some people have with the Meades, you can't pass up one for only 200!... But I had to. Not in the budget. And they wouldn't take 150 (my budget at the time!)...

Well then.. Yesterday was my sisters family picnic... I pass this store on the way out there, so I decided to stop in. After all, then sent me a Coupon for accessories... ($50. off when spending $175 or more).. I was going to get a Solar filter (Full aperature, glass... Orion one.), and an electronic EP (Orion Color one)... When I walked into the store, they STILL had that wedge sitting on the floor!!! Now it also had all the parts! And guess what... STILL only asking 200!

"Ding, ding, ding" (The bells in my head when off!)... I laughed and told the guy he should have taken my 150... Because now I'll take it, and HERE'S YOUR COUPON! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

I also picked up the Solar filter, but not the EP (Not in stock, or I would have!) The filter was 10 bucks cheaper than Orions current price, and I didn't pay shipping, so it was a good deal (140.)

Not a bad shopping day!

Oh, and the Picnic was fantastic! smile.gif

This [url=http://www.optcorp.com/product.aspx?pid=105-182-233-236-6192] Upgrade Kit is highly recommended. You may want to look into it. I installed it on my wedge and it is so much better now. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Here is some pics of the upgrade I did on my 14" Meade Super Wedge.

Mitty Upgrade parts.

Az rods. Meade is 1/2" x 11 Upgrade is 1/2" x 20

New Upgrade Az rod installed and old rod used as stiffener.

The old Meade elevation Knob was drilled out and glued to the focus knob. Much better control of focus with the karger knob.

Focus knob reinstalled on the 14"er.
