Check out this beautiful work of art! Also it's a functional orrery.

Also, here is another site, another builder. Boy these are fun to look at. It seems there is a market for this stuff.

Those really are beautiful items! I love mechanical devices that are works of art like that.

I have a clockwork orrery with polished globes of various rocks to represent the sun and planets. It is driven by a battery powered motor. I got it on eBay several years ago for what I considered a bargain price. Unfortunately it doesn't have the beautiful bronze gears to make it an even more extrordinary work of art. I'll take and post pictures if anybody is interested.

I know I would like to see pictures. There were several, actually, there weren't any on those wesites that I wouldn't like to own, or even just get to see.

I've tried taking pictures, but I'm not happy with the results. I couldn't get any pictures that did the orrery justice.

I tracked down a link to the maker of the orrery that I have, and they have some better photos on their site. The price is probably the best you could find for that sort of thing (but a little more than what I paid a few years ago.

Nice site, nice orrery. One could start collecting those, and there would be no end to it.
Looks good for UC Berkeley Lawrence Hall of Science around 1:30 pm Saturday March 1st.
Weather permitting. Does this work for you?

I should have said: "Weather Permitting, and the truck does not break down.." If you would like to give me contact (phone) info just in case there is a problem, that would be great.... Would not want to hang you out to dry.

There are a lot worse places to be stood up than the Lawrence Hall of Science. I could spend an enjoyable day there whether of not you showed up.
