Hi Guys,

We're happy to announce that we will be offering a new black lined POD Bay starting next week. Customers who have PODs on order that have not shipped will be given the opportunity to add the option to their order. Additional cost for the lined Bay will be announced in the next few days.

The Black lining is 100% virgin black polyethylene, heavily UV resistant, and adds 15 lbs weight to the Bay, making the new Bay even stronger than the POD Bay currently available. The black lining is melded with the outer color and will not scratch off or peel over time. It will prevent IR waves from penetrating into the Bay, reducing heat from IR, and also prevent more light from entering or leaving the Bay

Coming Shortly - An optional foam insulation filled wall panel!

These elements, combined with the success we've had with applying Krylon paint to the dome interior, will provide a complete high heat, high IR/UV solution for high temp environments.

Customers who do not choose the Bay lining option, or who currently own non-lined Bays, can apply Krylon to their POD Bays for a lower cost solution than lining.

Any chance of seeing a Black interior on the Dome itself?

Hi Neo,

Thanks for asking.

No chance with current technology. To line an object during roto molding requires a very large cavity. Unfortunately the double wall design of POD's panels means there's not a large enough cavity to work with. So instead we have the advantages of strength that insulation adds, as well as the other benefits of lining.
